Behind the Lines is the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) at Old Parliament House’s annual survey of political cartooning. The exhibition features over one hundred works by leading Australian practitioners and includes featured work by the 2024 Political Cartoonist of the Year, Megan Herbert.
This year’s iteration, No Guts, No Glory, takes its inspiration from the blood, sweat, and, at times, not-so-sportsmanlike behaviour of community sport. The interrogation of issues including the cost-of-living crisis, gender pay gap and national energy policy, all come with a hand-drawn shove, scratch and bruise.
Behind the Lines 2024 runs from November 29, 2024 until late 2025.
