Redcliffe Museum is a key cultural venue within the Moreton Bay region. As part of a major redevelopment led by the City of Moreton Bay, the museum underwent a significant upgrade to its permanent and temporary gallery spaces. The redesign expanded the museum’s footprint and repositioned it as a more visible and vital community destination.
Studio Starr was engaged to develop a new interpretive graphics system for the museum’s refreshed exhibitions and visitor experience. Working as part of a wider expert team, our scope focused on the delivery of 2D design across all thematic zones, including core storytelling environments, transitional spaces, and the retail entry area.
This phase of redevelopment introduced semi-permanent displays that use a layered interpretive strategy, combining image, object and story with considered pacing. The graphic design was informed by spatial rhythm, creating a balance between dense, information-rich moments and more open areas that offer visual clarity or opportunities for quiet transition.
The result is a contemporary storytelling environment that reflects the unique character of the Redcliffe peninsula. From seaside holidays and civic development to the region’s deeper cultural histories, the updated graphics supported improved visitor engagement, higher attendance, and a stronger retail offering within the museum.
